An over-the-counter forward contract is a contract between two parties who agree to buy or sell an asset at a predetermined price and date. Thus, unlike an option, the forward contract does not give the right, but the obligation to buy or sell an asset. Unlike a futures contract, a forward contract is not a standardized contract concluded via an exchange, but rather a specific contract concluded between two parties.
