The vast majority of hotels have rewards programs, and the Hyatt chain is no exception. Almost 1,000 establishments and several hotel brands all over the world fall under the Hyatt umbrella. The World of Hyatt loyalty program is free to join and there is no minimum spend requirement to become a member. In this article, you’ll learn everything you can do with your points.

    The 4 Membership Levels

First of all, there are four different levels of membership you can achieve based on qualifying activity within a calendar year, like:

    • How many nights you have stayed at qualifying World of Hyatt hotels
    • The number of base points you have earned (bonus points don’t count)
    • The number of events you’ve booked at qualifying World of Hyatt hotels

An Event is defined as a meeting, conference or gathering with a minimum of 10 rooms booked for one night.

    Membership status & benefits

You automatically achieve a higher membership status as soon as your activity meets the requirements of that level, such as the number of nights stayed, base points earned or events booked.

What benefits do the different levels offer? Each level comes with better benefits and more base points you can earn.

How does it work? Here’s a table to help you understand:

In addition, all members are entitled to free nights, special rates and no fees on the free night redeemed with rewards.

With Discoverist status, members are also entitled to Premium Internet, bottled water, VIP check-in and as well as a late check-out at 2 pm.

Globalist members also enjoy a number of advantages specific to their status, such as Club or breakfast access, free parking for free nights, priority access to rooms, and a late check-out at 4 pm.

    What are Milestone Rewards?

But that’s not all. There’s a second, parallel rewards program called Milestone Rewards. This program is based on nights spent during a calendar year, which runs from January 1st to December 31st.

The first reward is earned after 20 nights, and a new reward is added after each additional 10 nights, up to a maximum of 100 eligible nights.

Rewards range from access to the Club lounge and suite upgrades to bonus points, a $100 Hyatt gift card, free nights and access to My Hyatt Concierge.

    World of Hyatt member promotions

World of Hyatt often runs limited-time promotions for members. For example, a past promotion offered members the chance to earn 3X the points for ordering meals in the restaurants of participating hotels, even if they were not overnight guests. It applied to dining, delivery, and takeaway.

World of Hyatt: Everything you need to know about this hotel chain's rewards program

What can World of Hyatt points be redeemed for?

Once you have accumulated 5,000 points, you can redeem them for free nights, air miles or FIND experiences.

The FIND program provides you with over 200 experiences in 50 countries around the world, from wolf walks to Bonzai pruning courses, and yoga retreats to sushi-making classes with a Hyatt chef. There’s something for everyone, that’s for sure!

Reward options vary by hotel, but you can also redeem your points for dollars to spend on spa and beauty treatments or for meals and beverages at participating outlets. What’s more, service charges, taxes and gratuities can also be paid for with redeemed points.

However, there is a limit of $1,000 on the bill that can be paid with points. If you don’t have enough, you can simply pay the balance with a payment card or cash. Points are used at the time of payment, not at the time of booking, so you don’t have to decide in advance to redeem them.

If you find a better rate than the one offered on the official Hyatt website, you can contact customer service and not only will you be entitled to stay at the same price, but the hotel will also offer an additional 20% discount or 5,000 World of Hyatt bonus points. And you don’t need to be a member to take advantage of this guaranteed low price.

Enjoy your trip and your hike with the wolves!
